a a ants on my arm

We're using Jolly Phonics with the girls- very slowly mind you, but they both love the little song and action for each sound.

The song for the sound 'a' is "a a ants on my arm, a a ants on my arm, a a ants on my arm they're causing me alarm".

Addie kep asking to do some arts and crafts with pipe cleaners, so google and I came up with this.  Addie focuse on different colours in different areas while Tiny put all her colours on top, very carefully. They chose their eyes and Addie insisted on sticking her own on.

They loved this activity and I was impressed by their thoughtfulness and attention.

Compost

Addie is becoming increasingly keen to help with things like cooking and wanting to learn new skills. That's challenging for me, but when it's not frustrating, it's fun to have her helping, and a great chance for her to be introduced to following instructions (recipe), motor skills like mixing and chopping, awareness of health and safety and nutrition.

This weekend Addie watched as I drilled holes in a bin to make compost. She ran away a lot as the drill was too noisy (and I think overwhelming) for her, but she helped put in all the food scraps and we discussed it becoming plant food and how the bin is going to be like our tummy and break down the food.
